A high-profile meeting has been called with the Leader of Harrogate Borough Council, the Head of Community Safety, the private sector housing team and a chief inspector to hear in-person the problems that residents of Mayfield Grove are experiencing.
The meeting is on Tuesday and will be chaired by Richard Cooper in his capacity as ward councillor, for both Harrogate Borough Council and North Yorkshire Count Council.
Richard Cooper, Leader of Harrogate Borough Council, said:
It’s a private meeting so that residents attending can share their experiences freely and openly.
It’s believed that a lot of the crime and anti-social behaviour is linked to drug-related issues we wanted residents to be able to talk openly.
But it is a big issue in the area and I have already met council officers and the police about it as has Andrew Jones MP, and now it is widening out that involvement.
