Financial contributions will include £238,000 toward improvements at Meadowside Community Primary School and £65,000 to support strategic highways improvements. A further £134,000 will go towards improvements at Stockwell Allotments, St John the Baptist Churchyard, Jacob Smith Park and King George V Field recreation ground and skate park.
Scott Waters, managing director for Persimmon Homes Yorkshire, said:
We are pleased to be able to progress our Orchard Gardens development. The site has been carefully designed to meet the needs of the local market.
Located to the north east of the picturesque market town, the development is well placed for access to Harrogate, Leeds and York, so we expect there to be plenty of interest when we are able to release properties for sale.
Work has begun on the site’s infrastructure and the Persimmon Homes team is working towards releasing its first homes in autumn this year.
Scott added:
As part of our ongoing strategic development across Yorkshire, we are continually looking to expand our construction workforce and explore new land opportunities.
