Residents at brighterkind’s The Granby Care Home in Harrogate have celebrated World Book Day with a ‘Once upon a Time’ storytelling event and fairy tale themed tea party.
After enjoying a screening of the film ‘Beauty and the Beast’, team members dressed up as characters from the book and led a reminiscence session asking residents to share memories of their favourite childhood tales.
Residents took afternoon tea in the home’s ballroom which was decorated in a fairy tale theme and enjoyed the chef’s prince and princess cupcakes.
Magic Moments Club Coordinator Lydia Jackson said:
What a magical day! Everyone really enjoyed our celebration of storytelling and it was lovely to take a nostalgic trip down memory lane to rekindle happy memories of stories we enjoyed as children.

That was such fun. The costumes were amazing and I felt like a princess having tea in a royal castle!
The Granby Care Home is located in Harrogate and provides residential, nursing and respite care.
