Ripon Grammar school students and staff have created their first online open day for prospective sixth form students.
Due to the Government measures around coronavirus and social distancing guidelines, the school will not be holding its usual open event in January.
Instead, students and staff have filmed welcome videos to showcase the school, offering people the chance to tour the 23-acre campus and explore the two boarding houses as well as finding out more about the various subjects and range of extra-curricular activities on offer.
As RGS celebrates being named top school in the North by the Sunday Times, in addition to being in the top 5% of schools nationally for the progress students make in sixth form, head of sixth form Terry Fell said he was looking forward to welcoming prospective students to the virtual event.
The online Open Day, which is now on the school’s website, also includes information about student clubs and societies, online learning, sports activities and facilities, music and drama performances, university destinations and careers opportunities.
Mr Fell said:
We hope our online Open Day will give everyone a real insight into what we have to offer. Prospective students and parents can hear what students and staff have to say about our wonderfully vibrant and busy sixth form and discover more about all the brilliant opportunities on offer.
Application deadline for September 2021 entry: 8 February 2021.
