Harrogate Town got back to winning ways with one of their best performances of the season, when they triumphed 2-1 at high flying Exeter City.
Although Town’s starting line up was unchanged, new signing from Wolves,Edward Francis, was given a place on the subs bench.
A confident Exeter made the early running and James Belshaw had to make a splendid save to thwart Jack Randall.
Shortly afterwards, the Town keeper started the move which led to his side taking the lead after 32 minutes.Aaron Martin found Brendan Kiernan from Belshaw’s clearance and the Town striker beat Jonny Maxted with a low drive,
The Grecians hit back strongly and Belshaw was called into action to keep out Matt Jay’s header from Jack Sparkes’s centre.
Unfortunately just after the break, hesitation in the Town defence between Ryan Fallowfield and Jake Lawlor enabled Jay to find Jake Taylor who equalised from close range.
One the hour, the visitors had to make an enforced change with Francis replacing the injured Josh Falkingham, to make his Town debut.
Then with 15 minutes left a Martin header found Jack Muldoon who expertly cut through the Grecian’s defence and curled the winner past Maxted.
Although Fallowfield had to clear off the line and a shot whistled past Belshaw’s upright,it was Town who nearly
Stretched their lead, when Martin’s back post header went just wide.
