Harrogate came back from a two goal deficit to gain a precious point at a breezy Holker Street.
Town manager, Simon Weaver was disappointed by his side’s sloppy, below par, first half performance, but was delighted by the second half fightback.
Town slipped behind after 19 minutes when Lewis Hardcastle rounded keeper James Belshaw to open the Bluebird’s account, and worse was to follow three minutes later, when Ryan Fallowfield felled John Rooney with a sliding tackle inside the penalty area, and Rooney drove home from the spot.
Town’s best chance of the half fell to Mark Beck on twentyfive minutes when he latched onto a Warren Burrell cross, only to place his effort wide.
Harrogate made a double substitution at the break with Fallowfield making way for Jack Senior and Jack Emmett was replaced by Joe Leesley.
Within two minutes of the restart, Town had halved the deficit, when Jack Muldoon chased a long boot upfield from Belshaw, only to be beaten to the ball by home keeper Dixon, whose clearance cannoned into his chest and into the net.
However, Barrow were still posing a threat and Burrell did well to clear off the line from Kyle Jameson to prevent the Bluebirds restoring their two goal cushion.
But it was Town who completed the scoring, when with twenty minutes left they won a corner.
Leesley’s excellent cross was met by Callum Howe who gained Town a point with a trademark header.
So Town look forward to Wednesday evening’s televised clash with Salford City in excellent spirits.
