A firewalk in support of Marie Curie has raised nearly £9,000.
The event was staged at Harrogate Rugby Club on 8 February 2019 and was organised by the Harrogate Marie Curie fundraising group.
Marie Curie provides at-home care and support for people living with a terminal diagnosis.
Nicola Appleton,m speaking for the Harrogate Marie Curie fundraising group said:
I would like to thank everyone for their support on Friday night to make the evening such a fantastic event.
The Firewalkers worked really hard to raise as much sponsorship as possible prior to the event and on the night bravely committed to the hot coals with their friends and family cheering them on.
I would especially like to thank our local Firefighters who arrived in their Fire Engine with two of the Firefighters entering into the spirit and joining us walking the coals.
Sponsorship money is still coming through on our Just Giving pages but we estimate to have raised nearly £9,000… a fantastic amount.
