Harrogate Borough Council have given approval for a Performance Pavilion within Knaresborough Castle.
The summary report says it recognises both the long-term public desire for such a facility and the on-going work by Knaresborough Town Council.
Cllr Christine Willoughby said:
We are excited to at last have our permission from HBC to develop our performance area at the castle.
The next step will be to obtain Schedule Monument Consent from Historic England.
Hopefully we can get on with this very soon.
It will positioned backing on to the caste walls and car park.
