Two second half goals from Wrexham’s Akil Wright and Luke Young, ended Harrogate Town’s F A Cup campaign at the first hurdle.
For Town,Callum Howe returned in defence and Ryan Fallowfield started on the subs bench.
Town gave as good as they got in a typically tight first half, with Jordan Thewlis threatening the Red Dragons with some powerful runs, from one of which,Jack Emmett forced Rob Lainton to save a low drive.
A Joe Leesley free kick found Liam Kitching and his cross into the area caused panic in the home defence, but Aaron Williams couldn’t provide the finishing touch.
Lainton once again denied Williams at the far post after Josh Falkingham gained possession in midfield and found Leesley who crossed low into the area.
As the break approached,a free kick from Wrexham’s,Jordan Maguire-Drew,brought out a superb save from James Belshaw who tipped the ball over the crossbar.
On fiftysix minutes, both sides made changes, with Mark Beck replacing Williams for Town, and Mike Fondop replaced Maguire-Drew for the Welshmen.
Unfortunately for Town,on sixtytwo minutes,Wright broke the deadlock when he met a corner at the near post and turned the ball into Town’s net.
Fondop began to create problems in the Town defence and on seventysix minutes he held the ball up for Young to fire into the corner of the net.
Town tried to salvage something from the game and both Beck and Warren Burrell had headers saved by Lainton.
Deep into the eight minutes added time,Jack Muldoon almost converted a Leesley cross, but was denied by some last ditch defending, and the last action saw Lloyd Kerry skim the home crossbar with a twentyfive yard free kick.
