The Heritage Boys, Andy Burton, Peter Johnson and Ian Whitaker were delighted to receive an ‘Outstanding Fundraising Award’ from Yorkshire Air Ambulance Chairman Peter Sunderland at a ceremony at The Devonshire Arms, Bolton Abbey on 19th September.
The Heritage Boys, who all live near Harrogate and play and sing mainly 1960s’ music, have raised nearly £19,000 for YAA at more than 40 events since the start of 2015. They began performing in 2013 and have played at a total of nearly 70 events in Yorkshire, the south of England and overseas.
Taking no payment for themselves, they only raise money for YAA and other local charities, with a total raised so far of nearly £43,000. At private events they request a donation for YAA and at public events such as village hall fundraisers they ask that at least 25% of the profit go to YAA.
