Harrogate Railway Ladies entertained York R&I at Station view and came out 7-2 winners.
Railway have had a tough start to the 18/19 season and going 1-0 down to a goal that was nowhere near to crossing the line was hard. However the girls kept the pressure on and were soon 2-1 up showing great desire.
York always looked dangerous on the counter attack and punished Railway on the 25th minute to make it 2-2. Given recent results and performances some would have though Railway ladies would fall apart at this point.
They could not have been further from the truth. The girls played as a squad, not individuals, created chance after chance and looked the best they have been all season against a resilient York side.
A further 5 goals were scored & it could have been so much more given the chances created. Player of the match Emma Lansdall scored 4, Nicola Hadley 2 and Lou Donnelly 1.
An amazing performance from Railway Ladies today who were missing their regular keeper, but Erika Birnie was outstanding.
Railway Ladies hope to entertain Huddersfield next week at Station View.
