18 September 2018

The Harrogate BID Team have released their first BID document, detailing the aims and objectives for the Harrogate BID.

A Business Improvement District (BID) allows businesses to come together with the aim of improving their trading environment. The BID levy is mandatory for businesses above a threshold of £20,000 per year and optional below that rate.

The document will be formally launched on 26 September 2018 at a public meeting at Bettys  (10.00am – Noon)

See http://harrogatebid.co.uk/news/ if you would like to register to attend.

Mo Aswat of the Mosaic Partnership and acting as consultant to the BID team, said:

It is moving along as programmed and we have engaged now with well over 300 of our 400+ potential BID members directly.

Much of our time has bee taken in collating the views through surveys, one to ones, workshops and presentations.

Those views are now represented in a business planning document.

This document has been posted to each potential BID Member and its purpose is to check we are going in the right direction in terms of what businesses want us to do in Harrogate.

The views and comments will then feed into the final business plan which we are intending to have ready in late September.

A postal ballot has also scheduled with papers going out no later than 11 October 2018 and closing at 5pm on 8 November 2018.

For the BID to proceed it needs a majority in number and a majority in total business rate values of those that have voted for it.
