Harrogate Railway Ladies were away against Altofts Ladies today in a match that the manager Richard Burns was looking for an improvement from his squad.
The improvement was there but it only came after two individual mistakes were made to allow Altofts to go 2-0 up in the space of 4 minutes, this all happened on the 20th and 24th minute.
With some strong side line instructions, the railway ladies found their feet and went on the attack with some good work paying off on the 42nd minute when Danni Petrova drove home from the edge off the box to make it 2-1 at half time.
Railway were confident for the re start and this showed with chance after chance being made but unfortunately none found the back of the net. Altofts were also having their chances but due to Railways keeper, Charlotte (rocky) Donnelley, having an absolute storm of a match she kept them out with some brilliant saves.
The game ended 2-1 to Altofts but if Railway could only put away their chances it would certainly would have been a different result.
