Tickets for the tenth edition of North Yorkshire’s Deer Shed Festival will go on sale on Thursday 6t September 2018 at 10am.
Deer Shed Festival began as a one-day, 1000-capacity event in 2010, headlined by Leeds indie icons, The Wedding Present. In contrast, 10000 ticket holders attended Deer Shed Festival 9 in July 2018 to witness its biggest ever music, arts and science line-up, with household names like Goldfrapp headlining the music bill and James Acaster headlining the PG comedy big top tent.
50% of Deer Shed’s 2018 audience consisted of under 16s, highlighting that husband and wife team, Oliver and Kate Webster-Jones, have maintained their inclusive, family friendly ethos since the festival’s inception. Their original aim of creating a “live music/child friendly utopia” fully realised, with over 50 bands on four live music stages, over 40 live comedy shows and a plethora of arty, sporty and science-y activities and workshops.
Deer Shed 10 – taking place from 26th-28th July 2019, one week later than its usual weekend – will mark the first time the event will remain open to general ticket holders past 6pm on Sunday night. Previously, the Sunday night offering was an additional extra, with the festival proper closing at 6pm to allow families to get home at a sensible time.
That sensibility is making way for what the festival team promises to be a spectacular transformation of its usual Sunday night proceedings in aid of the festival’s 10th anniversary. This means more bands, more acts, and the biggest Sunday night party Baldersby Park has ever seen, all at no extra cost to the audience.
Deer Shed Festival director Oliver Jones said:
Deer Shed 9 felt like a watershed moment. We completely regenerated the site and we now feel safe saying it looks and feels how we imagined it when the festival was first thought up.
We’re proud to consistently platform emerging artists, and now we get the bonus of watching those acts alongside colossal headliners like Alison Goldfrapp! It’s a dream.
We’ll be the first to bring you the stars of tomorrow, too. There was some excitement when we booked James Acaster back in December 2017 but, fast forward 7 months to July, and he had become one of the most eagerly anticipated acts at the whole festival, completely packing out our big top tent.
300 adult early bird tickets will be made available at a price of £115 each and Tier 1 tickets will be made available immediately after early bird tickets sell out, at a price of £125 each. Tiered ticket prices ensure that festival goers are rewarded for purchasing tickets earlier.
Kids aged 0-2 years go free, whilst a ticket for 3-5 year olds will cost you £20, and tickets for 6-15 year olds cost £50.
