On the 4 July 2018, DJ Graeme Park took part in a Q&A session and then a DJ set in the spiegeltent – part of the Harrogate International Festival.
Dean Sowden interviewed the DJ, widely acknowledged at being at the forefront of House Music in the UK and resident DJ at The Haçienda in Manchester.
Dean Sowden said:
What a fantastic evening. Such a privilege to host the Q&A with Graeme.
Really interesting and decent chap – the party after was another level !
Brilliant set from Graeme & the crowd were so up for it. Fair play to Harrogate International Festivals for putting this night on

I haven’t been to Harrogate for quiet a while, although I used to come here often during the 90’s.
It was a great turn out with a lot of good questions from an older crowd and a few younger heads.
A couple of young people with an interest in DJing also watched from behind the mixing decks.
Haven’t many Q&A sessions, but they are always interesting – it can help dispel the myth or maybe not a myth that DJ’s tend to be a little full of themselves.
Graeme has hinted that he will be back very soon and in a bigger venue.
Graeme added:
I have played in many tents over the years and I didn’t know what to expect with the spiegeltent.
It was a great place to play, but I would love to come back and do something on a bigger scale for Harrogate.

It’s fair to say the gig last night was one of my all time faves. A fantastic venue, a happy audience and a DJ taking you on a musical journey with some totally fabulous tunes. Seeing the joy on people’s faces is a real perk of the job, and the Graeme Park night was full of it!
From HIF’s perspective, we want to continue to get encourage people to try new things in the festival, if that means programming something more familiar but special to Harrogate then that’s what we do to entice people into the Spiegeltent, knowing that once they’ve been they’ll often come back for the experience, not just the artist.
Graeme Park and the Hacienda in Harrogate on a Wednesday night really was an amazing experience!
