In Sacramento, California, St Aidan’s and St John Fisher old boy Jacob Fincham-Dukes continues to soar in American college athletics.
His long jump mark of 7.76m at the National Qualifiers in California this weekend has secured his spot at next month’s US National Collegiate Championships – the England Junior international finished ninth at the National Championships last year.
Jacob represents Oklahoma State University and is the first OSU student in history to receive ‘All-America’ status in the Long Jump. (‘All-American’ is an honorific title awarded by consensus of national college sports writers).
The National Collegiate Championships will be held in Eugene, Oregon from 6 to 9 June 2018.
