Rudding Park in Harrogate has been named Hotel of the Year at the annual VisitEngland Awards for Excellence which celebrates the best of English tourism.
VisitEngland, the national tourist board, announced Rudding Park as the winner of this prestigious accolade at the Awards ceremony at Bath Assembly Rooms.
One of three finalists, Rudding Park beat off stiff competition from Lucknam Park in Chippenham and Seaham Hall in County Durham.
Peter Banks, Managing Director at Rudding Park said:
I am thrilled Rudding Park is officially the Best Hotel in England and I am proud of the whole team for delivering such high-quality service and care. Our philosophy is to continually invest in the business to ensure the products and services are of the highest standard.
Rudding Park is located in Harrogate, which has to be the most beautiful destination to visit in England and our spa recaptures Harrogate’s spa heritage using natural spring water from the grounds at Rudding Park.
The Spa opened in May last year and there is no doubt it has been a great asset in enhancing the experience for our guests, together with our award winning restaurants, kitchen garden and our golf facility which offers the most extensive facilities in Yorkshire.
Since the launch in May 2017, Rudding Park Spa has received a number of accolades including Best Newcomer at the Good Spa Guide Awards, Best UK Spa Hotel by The Sunday Times and 3 AA Rosettes for Horto, the new restaurant within The Spa.
Commenting on the Award, Sally Balcombe, CEO of VisitBritain and VisitEngland said:
The standard of the hundreds of applications we received this year was extremely high and that’s why Rudding Park’s accolade is a testament to their excellent work.
These awards shine a spotlight on our fantastic tourism industry, with the winners showcasing the quality, innovation and excellence on offer throughout England and I warmly congratulate them on their impressive contribution to the tourism industry.
