Daredevils looking for the ultimate thrill can take to the skies to raise money for Martin House Hospice Care for Children and Young People.
It is calling for thrill-seekers from around Yorkshire to sign up for one of its three sky dives which take place this year – plus the chance to wing walk on a plane.
Martin House community fundraiser Bhranti Naik was the first to sign up for a wing walk last year, having previously done a sky dive, and said they are both incredible experiences.
Bhranti Naik said:
The wing walk is the closest you can get to feeling like a bird, the complete freedom you feel. It is the most exhilarating experience I have had.
Skydiving is like a rollercoaster, from the fear when you are sitting at the edge of the plane, the rush that goes through you, when all you can hear is the noise of the air when you freefall, and then the complete serene calmness of floating back down to earth.
They are both fantastic experiences, and to create memories like that while raising money for Martin House is doubly rewarding.
Martin House cares for children and young people with life-shortening conditions from across West, North and East Yorkshire, as well as supporting their families. Its services include respite stays, emergency care, community visits and bereavement care.
The wing walk takes place at Wickenby Aerodrome, Lincoln, on Saturday 21st July. It costs £400, with a fundraising target of a further £400.
Skydives take place at Skydive Hibaldstow on 19th May, 14th July and 6th October. Entry is £210, with a sponsorship target of £200.
