Due to the bad weather, Harrogate Borough Council has revised its arrangements for waste and recycling collections across the district.
Today (Friday 2 March) crews will be making the following collections:
Household waste (black bin/bag collection)
Collections of black bins/bags, with staff being diverted from their usual duties to support the catch-up of collections missed yesterday (1 March) because of the bad weather.
Collections will be made from streets that are safe for the council’s vehicles and crews to access.
Waste collections that were due today (Friday) will be made tomorrow (Saturday).
Today and tomorrow, the council will do its best to collect any waste bins/bags that may have been missed on Tuesday and Wednesday this week.
Residents are being asked to leave their black bin/bag(s) out for collection but to make sure they do not block pavements or cause an obstruction.
Recycling collections
There will be no recycling collections for the rest of this week and collections that were due earlier in the week or today will not be made either so residents should take their recycling container(s) back in.
Recycling collections will be made as usual in a fortnight when allowances will be made for extra items for collection.
Path gritting
The council now has some additional supplies of grit but is prioritising high-priority housing sites. This means some key paths across the Stray or in parks may not be treated.
