Threat level in North Yorkshire remains “severe” following Parsons Green attack

The incident which occurred on the Parsons Green Underground Station in London has been declared a terrorist incident.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing and the public are being urged to remain calm but alert. Following review, the UK threat level remains at Severe, meaning an attack is highly likely.

 

 

There is currently an increased police presence in London as a result of this incident. This position is not being replicated in the North Yorkshire area at this time but remains under constant review in line with the ongoing investigation.

The tragic events in London and Manchester in recent months remind us that an attack can occur at any time or place and without warning.

Members of the public are asked to be vigilant and report any suspicious activity, behaviour or concerns to police, via the confidential hotline on 0800 789 321 or online at gov.uk/ACT. In the case of an emergency, always dial 999.

A public appeal for images or video footage relating to the incident has been also made by investigating officers. Any images from the scene at Parsons Green, or that may assist the inquiry, should be uploaded to www.ukpoliceimageappeal.co.uk
