The Knaresborough riverside car park has re-opened ahead of schedule following resurfacing.
The car park has re-opened four days ahead of schedule following repair work to improve the car park.
The car park was due to re-open on Friday 31 March 2017, but it re-opened to the public on Monday 27 March after work was completed quicker than expected.
The council has spent £97,000 in the work which includes resurfacing of the whole car park and lining the parking bays for over 140 vehicles.
Dean Richardson, Harrogate Borough Council’s Head of Safer Communities said: We are pleased to have completed the planned work at Conyngham Hall car park ahead of schedule.
The car park was way past its useful life and the surface was in very poor condition. Rather than undertaking temporary repairs, we felt that we needed to invest in its redevelopment so that it would be fit for purpose in the future.
We have created a car park that will make a real difference for the people using it and which gives the right impression when they visited the town.
We were careful to schedule the work at a quieter time of year, when the car park is less busy and we would like to thank users and businesses nearby for their patience and understanding whilst we undertook this work.
