RHS Garden Harlow Carr in Harrogate is one of only two visitor attractions in Yorkshire to be awarded a prestigious Gold accolade by VisitEngland as part of its Visitor Attraction Quality Scheme.
The accolade is based on a ‘mystery shopper’ style assessment which takes into account all aspects of a customer’s experience, from pre-visit information available on the website through to the finer details of signage, cleanliness and knowledge of staff.Gold is the highest level that can be awarded under the scheme and means the popular North Yorkshire attraction achieved an overall score of at least 87% and a minimum score of 80% in every category scrutinised as part of the unannounced annual assessment.
Harlow Carr is the first RHS garden to be awarded the accolade. Yorkshire Wildlife Park in Doncaster is the other Yorkshire attraction to be awarded a Gold.
Liz Thwaite, Head of Site for RHS Garden Harlow Carr said: We’re thrilled to be awarded a Gold, particularly as it looks at how well we’re doing through the eyes of a customer. We work hard to constantly improve visitors’ experience and encourage feedback from customers – both good and bad – so we can constantly improve and develop the garden. The accolade is testament to the hard work of everyone involved in making Harlow Carr such a well-loved attraction.
