A Harrogate accountant has completed his race to tackle five marathons and raise £19,500 for Breast Cancer Care.
Martin Holden, head of office at Saffery Champness in Harrogate, ran a total of 131 miles during his fundraising challenge – his most recent conquest being the New York Marathon last month.
Martin said: New York was the finale to several years of fundraising events for Breast Cancer Care and was a fantastic way to finish.
I was running alongside people from almost every nation in the world and the after party that was thrown for the competitors was incredible.
Martin will be temporarily hanging up his running boots, with his next marathon planned for 2018, although he intends to run some half marathons in the year ahead.
Martin said: Breast cancer has touched the lives of so many people I know and I would like to thank everyone who has helped me achieve my fundraising target through their their support and generous donations.
