Two Yorkshire Chefs hosted an exclusive lunch to remember on Friday 18 November 2016 at one of Harrogate’s hidden gems, The Wild Plum.
Celebrity Chef, Stephanie Moon joined forces with Head Chef, Bethany Haresign to create a mouth-watering menu for guests. This really was a memorable event for the pair, as Bethany was trained by Stephanie at Thomas Danby College in Leeds, where she won the title “student of the year” for two years running.
The Wild Plum team were delighted to welcome Stephanie, who has travelled the world with her job and has been on BBC TV shows The Great British Menu and Chefs Put Your Menu Where Your Mouth Is. She is also a Salon Culinare Gold medal winner and Bronze medal winner for National Chef of the year, and is a regular face on the Yorkshire food scene.
The duo wowed guests with a delicious two course luncheon. Stephanie created the main course of cod with potato scales crust served with braised gem, butternut anise puree, baby vegetables and sparkling wine sauce. Bethany produced the dessert, “a taste of autumn” which included deconstructed apple crumble and custard, spiced roasted cinnamon plum doughnut with chocolate and salted caramel delice.
Stephanie said:
Bethany was always a bright student and it is amazing to see her doing so well at The Wild Plum. She has a well run kitchen with extremely creative Chefs and a very passionate team. It was a pleasure to work with Beth and it makes me very proud of her achievements.
