Lightwater Valley, the theme park near Ripon, has recorded a trading loss for the year to 31 January 2016.

- Visitors to the theme park decreased by 4% in 2015, compared with 2016
According to accounts, Lightwater Valley Attractions Ltd made a loss, that was in part, due to the sale of the Whirlwind flat ride. The sale resulted in £121,000 loss to the park.
Accounts also show that the health and Safety Executive (HSE) intend to prosecute the park following an accident on the Ladybird roller-coaster in June 2012.
Accounts also show that there is an intention to commence building of a holiday village in January 2017, a development that has planning approval.
The business saw a profit during 2014, with recent years showing a loss.
