Harrogate Borough Council held a preview event for the Harrogate district’s draft Local Plan this week (25 October 2016)
The drop-in event was ahead of the opening of the public consultation in November 2016, a consultation that will run for six weeks. During that period the Council will run a number of public events and comments can be made online, by email or post.
- The Local Plan will set out how the district should grow and develop between now and 2035 and will provide a firm basis for the consideration of planning applications.
- Six-week public consultation on the draft Local Plan, will begin on Friday 11 November 2016 and finish on Friday 23 December 2016.
- The public consultation will be available to complete on the council’s website from Friday 11 November 2016 at: http://consult.harrogate.gov.uk
Harrogate Borough Council’s Principle Planning Policy Manager is Tracey Rathmell.
Tracey Rathmell said:
Today (25 October 2016) is just a preview event to the main consultation that will start in November. Although a preview, the turn out has been great.
The public will be able to go along to a number of public open events as well as view and comment online.
This plan will set the strategy for a generation to come and we would really urge people to take an interest and give us your feedback and thoughts.
The plans are about what could be built and where, it’s not just about homes but also about business.
Local people know their locality better than anyone and we want as many as people to engage with us.
