On Wednesday 28 September 2016, Leeds hosted a parade of the local Olympic athletes who competed in Rio.
Transdev suppled three open top buses for the parade, along a golden ‘36’ bus which also took part in the parade, named after Olympic diving champion, Jack Laugher.
On board were Olympic Gold and Silver-winning triathletes Alistair and Jonny Brownlee, quadruple Paralympic T37 sprint and cycling medallist Kadeena Cox, and Olympic Bronze medal-winning gymnast, Nile Wilson.
After the parade the athletes travelled from the city square to the Civic Hall for a homecoming reception.
Jack’s gold ‘36’ bus will be officially unveiled at a special ceremony for Jack, to be held in the coming weeks outside the town hall in his home town of Ripon.
