On Saturday 25 June bus company Transdev will be supporting Armed Forces Day across Yorkshire by offering free travel to members of the armed forces past and present. This year also sees them extend the offer to accompanying partners and children, and members of the cadet adult volunteers.
Alex Hornby, CEO for Transdev, said:
We’re delighted to show our support for our armed forces. All of us at Transdev are keen to show how much we value what our service men and women do for our country. It’s great to be able to offer free travel to make it easier for them to get out to attend the many splendid events that are taking place across the county.
Armed Forces Day is celebrated every June to commemorate the service of men and women in the British Armed Forces. Veterans, current members of the armed forces, or cadet adult volunteers, need to show their ID cards for free travel, or be wearing uniform or displaying their medals. They can also bring a partner with them and up to 3 children age 16 years or under.
