Plants grown by the council team behind some of the district’s award winning gardens will be on sale from Tuesday 31 May 2016, with the start of their annual surplus summer bedding sale.
May and June are busy months for the council’s Central Nursery on Harlow Hill, with over 200,000 plants being produced for all the prominent floral displays across the Harrogate district as well as over 550 hanging baskets.
So if you’ve ever wanted to create floral displays like the ones you see across the district, here’s your chance. From next Tuesday, you can call in at the nursery and buy some of the surplus summer plants and flowers.
From French marigolds to fuchsias, petunias to impatiens, along with geraniums and begonias, all are available, along with ready-made baskets – or there’s a ‘bring your own basket’ service for custom made creations.
There’s also a range of compost, bagged manure, bark chip and growbags, along with herbs, tomato plants and perennials.
The surplus summer bedding plant sale starts on Tuesday 31 May.
The council’s central nursery is open Monday-Friday, 9am – 4pm; and for anyone who can’t make it down during the week, the nursery will be open on Saturday 4 June, from 9am to midday.
