North Yorkshire County Council is launching a new tipi and events business called Totem as part of its commercial operations to help fund services.
The County Council is running a Spring Wedding Fair at County Hall in Northallerton as a launch event.
County Councillor Gareth Dadd, North Yorkshire’s Deputy Leader, said:
The County Council is making innovative use of its existing resources to create commercial operations to fund vital services.
The business will be run by a board chaired by the Chief Executive of North Yorkshire County Council and the income generated therefore goes back into the Council to help fund services.
