Tickets for Harrogate International Festivals’ headline act, Van Morrison, go on sale at 10am on Monday 21 March 2016.
It will be one of just a handful of UK appearances in 2016 from the Celtic legend, who is returning to Harrogate for the first time in ten years. He plays the Harrogate International Centre on Thursday 9 June.
Tickets are priced at £70, £65, £60, £55.
One of the most revered singer-songwriters in music history, Sir Van recently received a knighthood. His accolades include a Brit, OBE, Ivor Novello, six Grammys and he is in the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame.
The June gig pre-dates the month-long Harrogate Music Festival in July as part of an extended programme to celebrate the 50th anniversary year of the arts organisation.
At 70, Van Morrison is truly a towering figure in rock history. His hits include Brown Eyed Girl, Moondance and Gloria. With his unique combination of blues, jazz, R&B, country and classic rock, Morrison recently reasserted his stature with the release of his latest album last year – Duets, featuring collaborations with Joss Stone, Mark Knopfler, and Michael Buble.
The ticket sales date has moved from 29 March, when the full summer programme for 2016’s festival goes on sale, due to high levels of interest and audience demand.
