Harrogate-based Scandinavian café Baltzersen’s is expanding its team with the appointment of new chef Sarah Start.
Sarah has worked in kitchens for the past nine years. She has held the position of chef at Hotel du Vin Harrogate, The West Park Hotel and the White Hart pub.
Her most recent role was running the kitchen at The Ship Inn in York.
Sarah said:
Baltzersen’s has a great reputation in the area for offering something unique and I am very excited be a part of such a popular, independent business. My background has mainly been cooking traditional food including a lot of French cuisine so I can’t wait to try my hand at Scandinavian.

Sarah was born in Harrogate and lives in Starbeck. Outside of work she enjoys playing football and supports Rugby League side Leeds Rhinos. Her favourite dish is braised lamb.
