Santa will be dropping in to Fairfax Community Centre in Harrogate next Saturday (12 December 2015) as part of its Christmas Fair celebrations.
The centre, on Fairfax Avenue, will be hosting Santa in his very own grotto from 2.30-4.30pm, and there’s plenty of other festive entertainment on offer including raffle and tombola stalls, Christmas craft stalls and activities for the children.
There will also be a cake stall – all donations gratefully received – plus a free present wrapping service.
And throughout the afternoon visitors to the Christmas Fair will be serenaded with Christmas carols.
Fairfax is one of a number of community centres across the district that all provide a valuable venue for community activities. Working closely with volunteers, local associations and management committees, the Fairfax team provides opportunities for local residents to take part in a wide range of pursuits, from junior clubs, lunch clubs, Messy Play sessions for babies, toddlers and their parents, through to craft afternoons, exercise classes, badminton and boccia.
Admission to the Christmas Fair is free, and there will be refreshments for sale throughout the afternoon.
Councillor Stanley Lumley, Harrogate Borough Council’s Cabinet Member for Culture and Sport, said:
We have a dedicated team at Fairfax that works closely with local groups and residents to provide a host of leisure and social opportunities throughout the year. This fair is an opportunity for everyone – regular visitors and newcomers to the centre – to join together at Fairfax and make the most of all the festive fun on offer.
