Ripon YMCA’s own ‘Helter Skelter’ group, a parent and toddler group, is set to benefit from new play equipment.
The group has been running for over 30 years and operates daily with around 20 children and their parents attending each day. The initial target of £700 was exceeded when a total of £975 was raised in donations from local organisation including the Ripon Lions, Freemasons and Rotary Club of Ripon.
Ripon’s YMCA Chairman, James Parkes said:
The support we have had for the toy appeal has been fantastic and on behalf of the children and families that use the Helter Skelter group we thank those local organisation who supported this appeal very much.
The families who access the group are really enjoying using the new equipment.
This year Ripon YMCA is celebrating 101 years in the city. Currently Ripon YMCA provides accommodation and support for 18 young people and adults aged 16 – 35 years and hosts a community hall and meeting room for the wider community to utilise.
To mark this milestone the YMCA is set to refurbish its community spaces and accomodation blocks and is currently exploring funding opportunities for this. We would therefore very much welcome any donations of funding or hands on support to help us achieve our aim.
