Late yesterday morning (24 October 2015) the Mayors car was illegally parked in the loading bay outside Superdrug on Cambridge Road in Harrogate.
This attracted the attention of a local Traffic officer. He apparently used his radio before issuing a parking ticket.
Councillor Nigel Simms formerly received the Mayoral Chains of Office in May 2015, but does not drive the vehicle himself. The mayor always has a driver.
Harrogate Borough Council employ the traffic wardens on behalf of North Yorkshire County Council as Highways Authority.
We are awaiting comment from Harrogate Borough Council.
