New students at Rossett have proved their talents after just a month of lessons.
In the September Surprise concert, more than 130 students demonstrated what they have learned in music lessons in just a few short weeks.
From talented soloists to perfectly-coordinated ensembles, the performances proved a huge hit with the sell-out crowd.
Head of Music Robin Durbin said:
September Surprise – which actually takes place in early October – is always a wonderful event and shows the incredible amount of work that has been done in the first few weeks of term.
It was wonderful to see so many of our new students with the confidence to get up on stage and give it a go so early in their time with us. The soloists in particular showed great maturity, but all of the performers had a great deal of talent to share.
Among the songs performed by the students were I Feel Good, House of the Rising Sun, Time Warp and Skyfall. The evening concluded with the Year 7 Choir singing a lively version of Queen’s Don’t Stop Me Now.
Mr Durbin added:
I couldn’t have asked for a better start to the Year 7 music experience at Rossett. I have no doubt that we’ve seen some Rossett stars of the future already and I can’t wait to see what else they can achieve during their time with us.
