A “Ringing the changes” scam is where someone tries to confuse a till cashier about the amount of money they have given them so they get more change than they should.
Police are investigating a “ringing the changes” scam that happened in Northallerton on 26 September 2015.
The incident happened at the Co-op store in Ainderby Road, Northallerton, when a man, seen in the CCTV stills wearing glasses, made off with £40 cash from the till after confusing the cashier asking him to change £10 notes for £20 notes.
