Once again some excellent results have been achieved by the Year 11 students at Harrogate High School.
72% of students achieved a C grade or better in English (6.6% above the national average) with 67% achieving the same in Mathematics (4% above the national figure).
Principal, Andrew Bayston congratulated the effort of all students saying:
Once again the results achieved by our Year 11 students have been achieved during a time of significant turbulence to the exam system at GCSE. It is pleasing to see the continued progress our students are making. My congratulations to students and staff! In addition to this the young people in this year group have been excellent to work with and really do deserve the success they are enjoying today! Our students are reaping the benefit of their hard work and resilience.
Levels of progress in English are reported at 71% for expected progress and 68% expected progress in Mathematics.
Ian Curtis, Chair of Governors offered his congratulations:
The results achieved are a reflection of the hard work by our students and teachers during this year of further changes to the examination system.
