On Saturday the 3 October 2015 the North East’s premier R ‘n’ B band Junco Partners will host their 2nd benefit concert for Macmillan Cancer Support at the Frazer Theatre in Knaresborough.
Last year the group raised over £1,500 for services at the Sir Robert Ogden Macmillan Centre in Harrogate, and hope to raise even more for local people affected by cancer.
As well as a great night’s entertainment from the band, the group are organising an amazing raffle with top prizes including one week’s accommodation in the mountains of Spain and use of a luxury Jaguar car for a day.
David Sproat, who plays bass in the band, said:
The show last year was a total sell out and everyone enjoyed themselves with dancing in the aisles.
The money raised helped fund the Macmillan Benefits and Welfare Adviser at the Sir Robert Ogden Centre, providing financial support and advice for local people affected by cancer, and we hope to raise even more to support this vital service again this year.
Michaela Crosthwaite, Fundraising Manager for Macmillan said:
Right now, we can’t reach everyone with cancer who needs us, so the support of people like the Junco Partners will help us make sure that people affected by cancer in Harrogate and the rural districts get the support they need to face the toughest fight of their life.
No one should face cancer alone, and Macmillan’s aim is to make sure that no one will.
