The North Yorkshire Fire Service were called to Knaresborough today to tackle a small fire in a Fish and Chip shop.

The Knaresborough Fire Station crews attended at 13:33 hours, on 13 June 15, to Silver Street with a fire at the back of the deep fat fryer. A dry powder extinguisher was used to deal with the fire.
The fire caused approximately 6 feet of fire damage to electric cabling and smoke damage to the fryer and minor smoke damage to the chip shop.
The cause of the fire is believed to be an electrical fault
