Harper Aggregates have been announced as the 2015 sponsor of the Harrogate Soap Box Derby.
The compnay have provided a cash injection to help stage the event and will support on the day with staff and a tractor.
Family business, Harpers are the regions leading supplier of aggregates, top soil, gravels and concrete and supply in-bulk to trade and by the bag to anyone.
James Pickard of the Harrogate Round Table said:
We are very grateful to have the support that Harper’s are providing.
There are some up-front costs, such as medical support on the day, that are unavoidable.
The donation will help pay those costs.
Also, the manpower and tractor on the day will mean the event runs very smoothly.
It just means we can run a better event and raise more money for charity.
Harper Aggregates have been in business for 28 years and are now run on a day to day basis by Neil Harper.
Neil Harper said:
It’s a great event and something a bit different for Harrogate.
To be involved with it from the grass-roots also means a lot too.
We are doing some leaflet drops and have event advertising on our fleet of vehicles.
We will also be entering a soap box on the day and would really encourage others to get behind this and enter.
Perhaps one day this event will be the size of the Great Knaresborough Bed Race!
The event runs from 10am on 8 August 2015 in Valley Gardens.
