Fire crews from Ripon and Bedale attended a fire in the staff quarters of the Swinton Park Hotel on 12 May 2015 at 16:33
There was a fire to curtains on a half-landing which was extinguished by fire crews using a hosereel jet and breathing apparatus.
There was also heat damage to the surrounding wall area and smoke damage to the stairway.
The last fire brigade resource left the incident at 19:35
Felicity Cunliffe-Lister, Proprietor, commented: This was an isolated incident that didn’t cause any damage to the building, the cause of which is currently under investigation by North Yorkshire Police.
Two members of staff received medical treatment for smoke inhalation and have recovered.
