A man has died near Harrogate after his vehicle lost control and left the road colliding with a tree.
Harrogate Police are now appealing for vital witnesses to come forward following a fatal road traffic collision which occurred on the B6165 at Nidd near Harrogate at 17.20 on Friday 28 November 2014.
The deceased was a local man aged 44 and was the single occupant in a silver Mitsubishi Coupe travelling from Knaresborough towards Ripley.
Traffic Constable Ken Riley, said: We are particularly interested in contacting a male who stopped at the scene and offered to disconnect the battery on the Mitsubishi following the collision, this person may have been the first at the scene.
Witnesses have also described the silver coupe overtaking a number of vehicles prior to the incident on the journey from Knaresborough and I am particularly keen to speak with any of the occupants of those vehicles
The Police are not in a position to name the deceased at this stage as family members are still being contacted.
