The Acorn Charity celebrated raising one million pounds since its inception in 1999 by holding a Ball for 565 guests at Rudding Park, Harrogate raising £60,000. The guests were treated to a champagne reception, dinner and dancing to the Urban Soul Orchestra.
Auctions held on the night raised over £35,000 and a car, kindly donated by Dr Stanley Sills, raised £8,200. Acorn raises funds for people with dementia and their carers locally and research into scleroderma at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.
