A bench warrant has been issued by York Crown Court for the arrest of Zydrunas Scerbinskas, who failed to turn up to answer 18 charges of fraud by false representation.
The offences were committed in the Harrogate area at the end of 2012.
Officers have been making extensive enquiries in an effort to trace Scerbinskas, who is aged 27 and from Leeds, and are now urging the public to help locate him.
The police are urging people to be vigilant and report any sightings of Scerbinskas or anyone matching his description.
Anyone who can help officers with their enquiries is urged to contact North Yorkshire Police on 101 – select option 2 – and ask for Detective Constable Gary Blackburn or Harrogate CID.
