Police are appealing for information after £13,000 worth of alloy HGV wheels were stolen from a dealership in Roecliffe near Boroughbridge.
Between 8.10pm on Sunday 26 and 4.30am on Monday 27 October 2014, the suspects, who are believed to have been travelling in a white, Ford Transit van, parked their vehicle on Claypit Lane.
They then used implements to attack a perimeter fence of Renault dealership, Thompson Commercials, on Barr Lane.
After entering the premises, they stole 18 alloy HGV wheels and 4 steel HGV wheels from brand new trucks. The wheels measure 295/80/22.5 and its believed they will all have Continental tyres.
The suspects also caused considerable damage to the fence and around £20,000 worth of damage to the vehicles from which the wheels were stolen, which were left on their axels.
PC Neil Roworth of Boroughbridge Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: This theft has cost the business a considerable amount of money and inconvenience, and I am appealing to anyone who has any information, particularly those in the haulage and motor trade industry, who may have been offered the wheels for sale, to contact the police without delay.”
