Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust has been named as one of the 100 best healthcare organisations in the country to work for, according to the Health Service Journal. It is also the only acute (hospital), non-specialist Trust in the whole of Yorkshire and the Humber to make the list.
To compile the list, Best Companies Group used NHS staff survey findings to analyse each organisation across seven core areas: leadership and planning; corporate culture and communications; role satisfaction; work environment; relationship with supervisor; training and development; and employee engagement and satisfaction.
Phillip Marshall, Director of Workforce and Organisational Development, said: We are delighted to once again be recognised as one of the best NHS organisations to work for in the country.
Any organisation is made up of the people who work for it, so I believe that it is vitally important to do our best to help them to do a good job and be happy in their role, whatever it is. We are consistently placed in the top 20% in the country for staff engagement in the National Staff Survey.
Our staff feel opportunities are open to all with 94 per cent of staff believing we provide equal opportunities for career progression or promotion, and the majority of our staff would recommend the Trust as a place to work and receive treatment.
Of course, our top priority is always to provide high quality care for everyone who uses our services and this commitment is shared by colleagues across the organisation.
I know that staff who are happy do a better job for patients, which is why we have a strong focus on engaging with and listening to staff.
