Giraffe wins best feva premises award

28 August 2014

Clothing emporium Giraffe has won the 2014 award presented to the best dressed feva premises during this year’s festival.

Located in the Marketplace in Knaresborough, Giraffe turned pink with pleasure with bicycle wheel, spots and polka dot dress all in the traditional feva colour gracing the decor at this popular winner.

Windsor Court Properties came second and Greenwoods Solicitors was third. Both are located in the High Street. Other commended windows were at Wild Orchid, McQueens, Piccalilli, Market Cafe, Castlegate Hardware, Gigi, The Brew and Floral Decor, said Tony Cerexhe, chairman of the feva organising committee.

Tony said: It has been a great festival this year and the way so many town centre businesses responded to join in by decorating their premises in feva themes was fantastic.

People really come together for feva. We have a great community spirit in Knaresborough and it really comes to the fore during the festival.

The best dressed premises competition was judged by members of the feva organising committee.

Knaresborough’s feva was held between 8 and 17 August and was one of the best yet. The festival was first held in 2000, growing out of a folk music festival.

It features music, art shows, activities, street entertainers, theatre, dance, talks, walks, workshops, special menus, street entertainment and a beer festival, and culminated in the day-long Picnic in the Park on the Saturday and a concert by Hope and Social on the urban beach at Henshaws on the final day.

feva is a platform for hundreds of Knaresborough people to display their talent and draws in many visitors to the town. It is organised by volunteers.
