HIC Harrogate

HIC ambassador programme

26 August 2014

Professionals and those with links to industry or trade organisations are now being invited to join the Harrogate International Centre (HIC) ambassador programme and help boost the region’s economy.

Simon Kent, HIC director, explained: An ambassador programme is something which many of the UK’s major event venues have and it’s a great way for us to work closer with influential people in certain sectors.

When someone joins our programme we will give them all the guidance they need to help bring their organisation or industry conference to HIC Yorkshire.

When you become an ambassador you’re not only raising your own profile, but that of your field of work or research and your own organisation.

Yorkshire can be rightly proud of the great publicity it’s received lately and we think there’s never been a better time for everyone to encourage more business to the region.

Ramnath Subramaniam is a paediatric (children’s) surgeon and chairs the Educational Committee of the European Society of Paediatric Urology (ESPU). Based in Leeds, Mr Subramaniam used his influence to bring the ESPU annual conference to Harrogate in 2016.

Ramnath said: Our conference can be held anywhere in Europe and it always attracts the leading professionals and players from all over the world, including Europe, Asia and America, in this particular branch of medicine so I wanted to bring the event to HIC Yorkshire and raise the profile of the region.

Acting as a HIC ambassador, I worked with the venue to successfully win the event.

As a Yorkshire-based consultant I’m very proud to be able to welcome colleagues from all over the world to an event which is on my own doorstep.
