The Academy Health Club in Harrogate is breaking new ground in choosing Technogym’s premium ARTIS line of equipment that will enable them to offer the best and most interactive training experience to members, including Omnia, an innovative new functional training solution ideal for small group training.
Technogym’s ARTIS range is a collection of fully integrated cardio, strength and functional equipment that offers the best in biomechanics, connectivity and sustainability. ARTIS is equipped with UNITY, a new interactive swipe-screen cardio interface that gives users the ability to create a personalised display of training programmes, data, web bookmarks, content and social networks.
Philippa Shackleton, Managing Director for The Academy Health Club, said: We are proud to be the oldest, most established and most experienced club in Harrogate. We have a constant commitment to offer members the best experience from start to finish, whatever their choice of activity. This is why we have chosen to invest in Technogym’s ARTIS, which offers the most connected and well-rounded fitness experience today.
We are delighted to be one of the first ARTIS installations in the North of England, and we will also be the first health club in North Yorkshire to have Omnia, to cater for those who prefer functional movements to static strength training. With this, our fourth gym refurbishment over the years, we can safely say that this exclusive installation puts us amongst the most up-to-date and technically advanced gyms in the country.
Users log in to each ARTIS machine with their own personal ‘mywellness account’, allowing them to automatically access their training programmes and track their workout progress throughout each session. Facebook, Twitter, a web cam and other apps integrated on the UNITY console allow members to be entertained and stay in touch with contacts while working out. After their gym session, they can log on to their mywellness accounts from anywhere in the world to view their progress, record outdoor physical activity, stay in touch with trainers or set new training programmes for themselves.
Part of the ARTIS range Omnia, is a complete functional training solution that offers limitless possibilities for training for different modalities – such as strength, resistance, stability, flexibility, coordination and speed, and caters to users of different needs, aspirations and abilities.
Philippa said: We are very excited about the gym refurbishment which will not only allow us to offer members a transformed fitness space, but also help us to provide a new Wellness experience that goes beyond the boundaries of the health club. Whatever your choice or goals – be it traditional gym training, functional fitness or outdoor activities – members and trainers will be equipped in the best way possible and you will be able to stay connected with your physical activity data, no matter where you are. Ultimately, however, it is all about choice; if technology is just not your thing, don’t worry! Members’ programmes will still be on their existing keys with exercise history copied to the new system, so you can carry on just as you were.
Work on the gym refurbishment will commence on 15 August 2014 and the gym will reopen on 1 September 2014.
